Support for Americans Building Lives Outside the U.S.

Moving abroad reshapes more than your address. It shifts your sense of home, identity, rhythm, and belonging in ways you don’t fully expect.

I know this firsthand.

When I moved from the U.S. to Paris, I was surprised by how disorienting the transition felt. Beyond the logistics, there was the deeper experience of being far from familiar systems, familiar language, and familiar ways of orienting myself in the world. I missed ease, community, and the unspoken understanding that comes from shared context.

Over time, living abroad began to change me in meaningful ways. It asked me to slow down, tolerate uncertainty, and rethink assumptions I didn’t even know I was carrying. It also deepened my appreciation for reflection, nuance, and the emotional complexity of living between worlds.

This space is for Americans who are navigating life abroad, whether you’re preparing to move, newly settled, or years in and still finding your footing.

I’m especially drawn to supporting licensed therapists and helpers through this transition, as many find themselves holding space for others while navigating their own questions of identity, ethics, belonging, and sustainability. That said, you don’t need to be a therapist to benefit from this work.

Together, we’ll:

  • Reflect on your evolving clinical voice, values, and professional identity

  • Connect with others navigating similar terrain

  • Normalize the complexity of living and working in two (or more) worlds

  • Reclaim a sense of community, clarity, and support

Whether you’re settling in or still sorting through the pieces, this is a space for grounding, reflection, and connection. You’re not alone.

Let’s hold space for what’s hard, honor what’s emerging, and build something steady together. These are not supervision groups, and they’re not just “peer support.” They are intentional, facilitated spaces where clinical reflection meets connection, where you can bring the real stuff: ethical dilemmas, emotional burnout, questions about confusing systems, professional identity exploration, or just the feeling that you’re “doing too much and not enough.”

What This Space Is For

This work is not about having all the answers or optimizing your move. It’s about having a place to pause and reflect while you’re in it.

Together, we might explore:

  • The emotional impact of leaving familiar systems and relationships

  • Identity shifts that arise when your life no longer fits a familiar narrative

  • The tension between independence and isolation

  • Questions of purpose, belonging, and “Am I doing this right?”

  • How to build steadiness and self-trust while living between cultures

  • Professional issues for therapists, such as ethics and logistics

How We Can Work Together

Small Group Spaces
Intimate, facilitated groups that prioritize reflection, shared experience, and thoughtful conversation. These groups are designed to build connection and validity in a grounded space.

One-on-One Support
Individual sessions for those who want a more private space to reflect, sort through questions, or receive support during transitions or periods of uncertainty.
